AISFP 29 – Last Comic-Con Special: Stargate Atlantis Interviews

The wait is over. In this episode we present our interviews with Stargate Atlantis stars Joseph Mallozzi, Jewel Staite, David Hewlett, and Joe Flanigan.

Show Notes:
– Sam and I geek out over Comic-Con. What a Con it was! I met my favorite actors, ran into Ben Browder, and chatted in the hallway with Carrie Vaughn. Sam shared an elevator with Chief Tyrol from BSG, sipped cocktails with Peter Mayhew (Chewbacca), and sat next to Neil Gaiman in a restaurant. Only at Comic-Con.

– Interviews with Joseph Mallozzi, Jewel Staite, David Hewlett, and Joe Flanigan. Pictures are two posts down.

– Bumper featuring Robert J. Sawyer.
– Sam and I wrap things up. Another big thanks to the kind Stargate folks for the great interviews! Sam and I will be at Conjecture in September speaking about podcasting. Come say hi.

– See you next week with Jacqueline Carey!

– Comic-Con pictures at last! I’m reposting some of the Stargate Altantis pictures for folks who don’t scroll! Enjoy.

Having watched Amanda Tapping for well over 400 hours (10 seasons watched multiple times), it was very surreal to meet her. Thankfully, she was incredibly gracious and kind. Thanks, Amanda!

David Hewlett was super cool. Nothing like McKay. Not that I don’t think McKay is cool, because I do. Well, you know what I mean.

Shaun with the lovely Jewel Staite. Can’t wait to see her in Season 4.

Executive Producer Joseph Mallozzi. A scholar and a gentleman. My Skeletor toy is missing. Hmm. . . . (listen to the interview for context)

Shaun with Joe Flanigan. Man, he has great hair.

Sam at work. Work that booth, baby, work it!

The President and the Producer. My 2 favorite P’s.

That’s the last time I ask them if they think I’m cute!

That poster was teasing them the whole time. Really, they handled it rather well.

The SG-1 quartet is nearly complete.

That Robert C. Cooper is CRAZY!!

I found my lost pirate ship.

The view from my secret hiding place where I enjoyed many a power bar and bottle-o-water.

Scifi Channel has a spaceship made out of little TVs. Weird, but cool.

If only my likeness could be captured at the peek of my sexiness. . . . still waiting for that day. . . . I think my watch stopped.

One of the best cartoons ever!

My poster is bigger than yours.

These are not the droids we’re looking for. You can go about your business. Move along.

Legos scare me. They scare Sam, too, but she would never admit that. She has to maintain her image of overwhelming coolness.

Holy millions of Legos, Batman!

Enough Legos already!

Comics. What a shock. There were about 20 different booths just like this.

One quarter of the exhibitor hall.

  1. Hi Shaun and Sam!

Thank YOU so much for the audio interviews with the Stargate Atlantis actors from Comic Con!

I’m downloading it now (I’m on dial up, sigh), and I’m looking forward to listening to it.

    Best wishes.

    Morjana

    Hi Shaun & Sam!

Just a heads up that your link seems to be to the wrong MP3…the one you’ve linked is 28.

  3. Shaun Farrell says

The link has been fixed. Sorry about that!

  4. Hi Shaun,

Thanks for the link fix 🙂 One fan found the ‘backdoor’ so I was able to listen before you even got back to me (yes, we SGA fans are an inventive bunch) and you did a great job on interviewing.

    Shaun…

    Thanks. =)

Great interviews by the way. Really makes me wish I’d actually been able to go to the con.

  6. Shaun Farrell says

Thanks elyse and beanieshepperd! I’m glad you liked them. I obviously had a blast putting them together. Now, tell all your friends!

  7. Hey Shaun and Sam,

Just letting you know that I am grabbing the mp3 – many thanks for sharing it with us!

    Will look fwd to listening.

    Take care,

    M

  8. Those interviews make me wish I stayed closer to Shaun during Con 😉 You got to stand next to Jewel! Mmm… Jewel…

  9. Your comments in the opening about Farscape made me think I’d give it antoher try (I must be the only person on the planet who didn’t like Scorpius; his character was what got me to stop watching when the show was on).

However, oddly enough…the show seems to be out of print other than (very) expensive second-hand copies.

Weird. I can get Battlestar, Babylon 5, Firefly/Serenity, every Star Trek variant out there, heck, even Starlost, for crying out loud…but not this one?
