Arriving today was Volume 2 of the Jump 225 Trilogy, Multireal, written by rising star David Louis Edelman. Let’s just stop right there. What a freakin’ cool name for a trilogy. Jump 225. I love it.
Featuring gorgeous coverart from Stephan Martiniere, Multireal promises to be an engaging, fast-paced, and thoroughly riveting read. The front pages are packed with praise quotes from authors (Robert J. Sawyer, Tobias Buckell, Nick Sagan), media (Publisher’s Weekly, Library Journal, Midwest Book Review), bloggers (Neth Space, Rob’s Blog o’ Stuff), and for the first time that I’ve ever seen, though he’s listed as a blogger, a podcaster (Evo Terra from Dragonpage: Cover to Cover). My only problem with all this praise is the inclusion of Harriet Klauser. She seems to review every book being published today, and she pretty much praises them all, but that’s a minor point and I shouldn’t gripe.
I am sad to say that I still have not read Infoquake, and I’m tempted to jump straight into Multireal. But Edelman deserves better than that, and I hope to knock out Infoquake soon. This series really does look amazing, so if you want cutting edge SF, check it out.
