Yet another reason to visit Conjecture next week: I will be facilitating a one hour podcasting seminar entitled Your Voice Online. I will discuss the challenges and goals that you need to consider before starting a podcast and the basic process of putting a show together and getting it online.
I felt incredibly invigorated after my first evening in Pasadena. With the advice of Kevin J. Anderson, Rebecca Moesta, and Dave Wolverton buzzing in my ears, I sat down in my nasty hotel room and completely shredded a short story I’ve been working on. I rewrote the first nine pages, and I’m very happy with the results. And, yes, I will submit it to WOTF when I’m done.
Coming to you from Pasadena, California, I present my account of my first night participating as a podcaster in the Writers of the Future ceremonies.
Yesterday at Comic-Con I recorded one-on-one interviews with Stargate Atlantis stars David Hewlett, Joe Flanigan, Jewel Staite and producer/writer Joseph Mallozzi.
I also recorded a press conference featuring Ben Browder, Chris Judge, Amanda Tapping, David Hewlett, Jewel Staite, Robert C. Cooper, Martin Wood, Joseph Mallozzi and Gary Jones.
All of this Stargate goodness will be coming to you soon.
I’m thrilled to announce that Tobias S. Buckell, author of Crystal Rain and Ragamuffin, will be doing a continuing segment for Adventures in Scifi Publishing. Ask a Writer will be a regular feature for listeners, by listeners.
Good news for Battlestar fans!
Okay, I’ll admit it. I was getting scared. Was Battlestar Galactica going the way of Lost? Meaning, would it plummet from the heights of storytelling to the depths of regular television? (Sorry Lost fans, but that show has lost – no pun intended – the magic it once possessed.) But I’m pleased to say that BSG has righted the ship.
Here’s a trailer for a film I was in a couple of months ago. The footage really looks great.
